Our second day in Seattle was great. Our hotel check out was at 12pm which really helped us out. We went to look at Pike Place. This was better than we expected. Pike Place is a market where they sell fresh seafood, flowers, fruit and vegetables. Doesn't sound like much until you see the size off all of these things!
The fruit is really large and almost looks fake it is so perfect looking. The seafood is massive! A scallop looked the size of a 400 g steak. A crab leg was the size of a 7 year old's arm.

We were lucky enough to see the famous fish throwing at Pike Place. This was cool. There was a group of guys from a company all cheering on one guy to catch a fish. He had a bit of training on how to catch it while we all waited to see it happen. He did manage to catch it! Im glad we saw it. I think because we were so early they had to wait quite a while for an audience. They don't exactly throw fish all day everyday.

James and I got to enjoy Starbucks Reserve. This is the original coffee from the original Starbucks in Seattle. It is tiny but the barista was giving us some interesting facts. They average about 5000 beverages a day and the week before we were there they broke their record by doing $120 000 turnover in one week.
This Starbucks makes more money than any other Starbucks in the world and that is pretty impressive considering how many there are in the world. I don't like Starbucks coffee but this was really good!! Tastes nothing like Starbucks coffee. Unfortunately the Starbucks Reserve is only available at the original Starbucks in Seattle. Oh well.

We had a long drive ahead of us and hadn't booked any accommodation for this day/night. We were winging it. At about 8pm we arrived in a small coastal town called Newport. This was really beautiful. We didn't see much of the town but we walked along the beach and took in the wonderful sea air. James booked us in to a lovely place called Elizabeth Inn. Didn't look like much from the outside but our room was great. We had an ocean view and a fireplace. Oregon was really cold and that fireplace came in handy.

After realising we were about 4 hours behind our schedule we it the hay ready for a 12 hour scenic drive the next day.
Love the fish in his shades
