We caught up on some much needed sleep and had a an early start to the first day of our adventure.
I didn't know motels were made of dry walling and could hear most things through the night. I woke up many times convinced someone was walking in our room, felt adrenaline paralyse my body at the thought of someone possibly being in our room. I could hear someone walking in hard shoes, possibly heels, up and down the length of our room, but only every so often. I was so confused I then thought it could possibly be a ghost! Then that thought was followed by "Just breathe Tara and go to sleep!"
Our first stop was to Walmart!! OMG! (We didn't get to spend too much time there to have much to say about it just yet.)
After getting into a Chevy that looked and felt like the Titanic we thought it better to go and buy a Sat-Nav/GPS. Driving on the opposite side of the road than what you are used to is a completely disorientating experience, never mind also trying to find your way around somewhere you have never been.
Finally sorted, our first stop was to see Jimi Hendrix's grave. Beautiful. But its a grave so no details needed here.
Our second stop was Bruce Lee's grave. This was about a 30-40 min drive from Jimi's grave. Again lovely but a grave.
Feeling more confident about our 'titanic truck' and driving on the right hand side of the road we headed for the Space Needle which is in downtown Seattle. The rain stopped and the clouds cleared which gave us the perfect setting to view the city of Seattle - 520 feet high.
Our hotel is great! We love the name! The Roosevelt. ha! Great location too and every person we come across is SO FRIENDLY!
James and I headed to The Crab Pot for dinner. This is a restaurant on the waterfront overlooking the harbour. James and I had seen this place featured on the show called "Man vs Food" and once James knew we were doing a U.S road trip, he started googling all the "man vs Food' places so we could try some of them out.
"Man vs Food' is a show about a man that goes all over the States looking for not only the best of the best in its category but conquering food challenges are his speciality. Kilos of meat, litres of milkshakes, pounds of fries and his motto is "Bacon makes everything taste better" - you get the picture.
At The Crab Pot, www.thecrabpot.com - they lay paper over your plastic tablecloth - classy. You are given a chopping board, bib and mallet.
Your waiter then empties your food out of a massive silver bowl onto your table - steaming crab, prawns, mussels and clams lay before you, this is all cooked with some chorizo, sweetcorn and red potatoes. Oh and you drop the shells into the big silver bowl on the floor at the end of your table.
Then you grab a crab leg, bash it with your mallet and savour the sweet meat inside! It really was good fun!

fantastic update guys - enjoy!
